Wildwood Programs, Inc. seeks a strong, innovative leader to serve as its Chief Human Resource Officer.

As the Chief Human Resource Officer, you will be forecasting, developing and implementing strategic human resources policies. You will direct and coordinate human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. (Other duties may be assigned.)

OVERVIEW

In addition to overseeing the day-to-day Human Resource operations for the organization, the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), serves as a member of a five-person executive leadership team, directing and executing strategies in accordance with the mission, vision and values.

The CHRO will demonstrate a commitment to ensuring a safe, positive and gratifying work environment for approximately 750 full and part time employees through innovation, HR operations, strategic planning, compliance, and exceptionally strong communication practices at all levels.

A true passion for the mission combined with an appreciation for the core values and long-term goals of the organization is essential. You must be able to think and act operationally and strategically, and execute plans effectively.

With a solid HR team, you will also be well positioned to strengthen the HR presence.

STRATEGY

The leadership team is continually managing a constantly changing environment, focused upon the service and programs and a strong commitment to ensuring the organization remains an excellent place to work. Navigating, creating and instituting HR programs which comply with the changing healthcare and HR requirements are key short- and long-term initiatives. The team also focuses on strengthening its community presence and philanthropic and development needs, managed through the Foundation.

LEADERSHIP QUALITIES

The leadership team is exceptionally genuine, with a high degree of trust and respect in each other. They work very collaboratively, while giving each one room to shine and do what they do best. We are looking for someone with the same level of appreciation, honesty and skill.

Your HR team of six will learn from your guidance and expertise in all functional areas. This is still a hands-on role, where you will be actively involved in day to day HR functions, and accessible to any employee who needs you.

ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES

Due to the nature of the organization, it is essential that you have a strong comfort level working with and supporting a diverse employee population which works numerous shifts in multiple locations in the area, in both residential and non-residential settings.

Essential to the role is consistency in approach and responsiveness, sensitivity to and a connection to the mission. HR is not a stand-alone function; it is well integrated with other departments and needs to be present and accessible to employees without exception.

A large focus of this position, and across the organization is customer service.  The organization promotes a true open-door policy and responsiveness to everyone.

The work environment can be challenging – employees work varied shifts and are supporting a population which require a high level of sensitivity, empathy, focus and confidentiality at all times.
