The 2019 Spring Gala, held on March 31 at the Albany Capital Center, was an evening to remember filled with delicious food, the sounds of one of the region’s favorite bands, Body & Soul, and nearly 500 guests enjoying it all.
As well as being a fabulous evening of dining, dancing, and connecting with old and new friends, it was also a very important evening of fundraising to support the services Wildwood provides to over 3,500 people every year. The Wildwood Foundation team, the Gala Committee, Honorary Co-Chairs Nick and Lisa Preddice, community sponsors, Honorary Committee members and all the volunteers and attendees for the evening were responsible for raising over $250,000!
The gala also serves as a very visible celebration of Wildwood to our surrounding community and attracts new friends and potential benefactors to our organization. Every year, people new to Wildwood can learn a little bit more about Wildwood through a video shown at the gala that highlights one of the many parts of Wildwood. This year’s gala video was poignantly touching and focused on the need for resources to support our aging population, one part of Wildwood that the evening’s Bid-a-Cause helps fund. This year the Bid-a-Cause’s auction-style opportunity for guests to donate to Wildwood raised nearly $80,000.
