September 25 was a beautiful fall morning for the 2021 Walk for Wildwood! The Wildwood family was again able to gather together at Cook Park in Colonie to toss on their newest Walk for Wildwood swag and get a little exercise to benefit Wildwood. This annual Wildwood event is not only the perfect place to catch up with old friends, make new ones and find out what’s happening at Wildwood, but it also plays an important role raising funds for the many services of Wildwood.
This year’s walk was a bit different than in years past. Instead of having a set start time and walking together as a group, people were able to arrive at the park between the hours of 9am-1pm to walk the park at their leisure. The spread out start allowed for social distancing while preserving everyone’s ability to join together.
Every year, the walk proves to be fun for the whole community. This year’s festivities included Wildwood’s very own house band, “The WoW Band”, providing the music, a scavenger hunt that kept children of all ages hunting for treasures and a rocket ship coloring contest that brought out the artist in everyone.
A special thank you goes out to our community partners for their sponsorship, those that participated in the interactive fair and all the volunteers and attendees of the 2021 Walk for Wildwood. It was great to be able to come together again for such a fun and important day!
