Since the last edition of Reaching Out, Wildwood welcomed Lisa Getman to the team as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO). This COO position was left vacant after now-CEO Lou Deepe transitioned into his current role. The process of identifying and selecting the right person for this position involved a comprehensive approach in the design of the search, hiring and interviewing process. There were several rounds of interviews conducted by Wildwood staff of all disciplines and levels in our organization. Many applicants were screened and several were chosen for interviews in a process that occurred over three months. Lisa not only met all the high standards of this position; she also will undoubtedly be a good fit in the Wildwood culture.

Lisa has had a 25-year career in our field and comes to us with a comprehensive and varied skill set and a wealth of experience. Most recently, she was the Vice President of Compliance and Analytics with Care Design NY and, before that, she held the position of Chief Quality and Corporate Compliance Officer at Crystal Run.  The majority of Lisa's career was at Upstate Cerebral Palsy where she held a variety of positions. Upon obtaining her Bachelors in Psychology from SUNY Institute of Technology, she worked as a Program Services Specialist supporting people in day, residential, and school-age services. She then moved into the Compliance Department as a Compliance Review Specialist, Director of Compliance, and then Senior Vice President of Compliance. Lisa began her career in a direct care role within a residential program while she was attending college.  Lisa is a graduate of the National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities and also attended University at Albany for her Masters of Social Welfare and worked as a Primary Therapist at Mental Health Connections.

Lisa also supports her community and served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Samaritan Counseling Center and was a member of the Finance Committee at the YWCA. Lisa relocated to the Capital District in 2019.  Outside of work, she enjoys camping, fishing, and hiking with her Labrador Retriever.
